TM 11-6625-2718-14&P
A two conductor cable in which the one conductor surrounds and is
COAXIAL LINE-
insulated from an inner conductor.
An artificial load which accepts transmitter output, converting the rf
DUMMY LOAD-
rests.
Power in a transmission line which moves from the transmitter to the
FORWARD POWER
Cycles per second.
HERTZ-
MATCHED LOAD-
An electrical load which consumes full transmitter output, preventing
any reflected power returning to the transmitter.
An electrical load whose ohmic value is not matched to the transmitter
MISMATCHED LOAD-
so that there is power reflected back to the transmitter.
MHz-MEGAHERTZ-
One million hertz or one million cycles per second.
REFLECTED POWER-
Traveling waves moving in a transmission line from the antenna or
load back to the transmitter due to the ohmic mismatch of the load
with the transmitter.
STANDING WAVE-
Current and voltage distribution in a transmission line caused by two
sets of waves traveling in opposite directions resulting in minimum and
maximum stationary points.
STANDING WAVE RATIO
The ratio of maximum current (or voltage) to the minimum current (or
voltage) of standing waves in a transmission line.
An electrical wave which moves through a transmission line in either a
TRAVELING WAVE-
forward or reflected direction.
