3-15. OPERATING PROCEDURE.
3-16. Paragraphs 3-17 through 3-34 describe the basic procedures to be followed in making preliminary con-
trol settings and interconnections, and energizing and de-energizing the test set.
NOTE
Before attempting to operate the test set, perform the pre-operational
checks described in paragraph 2-11.
3-17. PRELIMINARY CONTROL SETTINGS.
3-18. The test set may be used to interconnect and facilitate servicing of the components of various IFF trans-
ponder systems as illustrated in figure 3-7. The preliminary control settings are the same for all configura-
tions. Before starting operation, check the setting of the operating controls and reset as necessary. Set the
controls on the test set in accordance with figure 3-6.
